 Creates the Twentieth Judicial Circuit Districting Act of 2022. Provides that on December 6, 2022, the Twentieth Judicial Circuit is divided into 3 subcircuits. Provides descriptions of each subcircuit. Provides for the assignment of existing circuit judgeships to subcircuits by the Supreme Court. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning courts.


2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3represented in the General Assembly:



4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the 
5Twentieth Judicial Circuit Districting Act of 2022.

6 Section 5. Twentieth Judicial Circuit. 
7 (a) On December 6, 2022, the Twentieth Judicial Circuit is 
8divided into 3 subcircuits, with the numerical order 1, 2, and 
93, consisting of the following precincts in St. Clair County, 
10as they exist on the effective date of this Act:

1Road.

2 (b) On December 6, 2022, the Supreme Court shall assign 
3the 8 circuit judgeships elected before and at the 2022 
4general election to subcircuits as follows: 3 to subcircuit 1, 
52 to subcircuit 2, and 3 to subcircuit 3. Thereafter, persons 
6elected or appointed to circuit judgeships shall be residents 
7of the subcircuit to which the circuit judgeship has been 
8assigned.

9 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
