1 | AN ACT concerning ethics.
| |||||||||||||||||||
2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| |||||||||||||||||||
4 | Section 5. The State Officials and Employees Ethics Act is | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | amended by changing Section 5-30 as follows:

6 | (5 ILCS 430/5-30)
| |||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 5-30. Prohibited offer or promise.
An officer or | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | employee of the the executive or legislative branch or a
| |||||||||||||||||||
9 | candidate for an executive or legislative branch office may not | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | promise
anything of value related to State government, | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | including but not limited to
positions in State government, | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | promotions, or salary increases, in
consideration for a | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | contribution to a political committee, political party, or
| |||||||||||||||||||
14 | other entity that has as one of its purposes the financial | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | support of a
candidate for elective office.

16 | Nothing in this Section prevents the making or accepting of | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | voluntary
contributions otherwise in accordance with law.
