Bill Title: Amends the State Parks Act to require the Department of Natural Resources to make menstrual hygiene products available, at no cost to the public, in each restroom facility that is situated within a State park and under the jurisdiction and control of the Department of Natural Resources. Defines "menstrual hygiene products" and "restroom facility". Effective immediately.

1 | AN ACT concerning State government.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The State Parks Act is amended by adding | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
5 | Section 4d as follows:

6 | (20 ILCS 835/4d new) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 4d. Availability of menstrual hygiene products. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
8 | (a) In this Section: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
9 | "Menstrual hygiene products" means tampons and sanitary | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
10 | napkins for use in connection with the menstrual cycle. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
11 | "Restroom facility" means any room equipped with toilets | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
12 | or urinals for use by the public. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
13 | (b) The Department shall make menstrual hygiene products | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
14 | available, at no cost to the public, in each restroom facility | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
15 | that is situated within a State park and under the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
16 | jurisdiction and control of the Department.

17 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
18 | becoming law.
