Bill Title: Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that if a Medicaid enrollee of a managed care organization is referred by his or her primary care provider to another provider who was on the in-network referral list provided by the managed care organization for a medical service, the managed care organization must cover the medical service from that provider if it was a covered service on the date of referral.

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. AN ACT concerning public aid.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
adding Section 5-30.15 as follows:
(305 ILCS 5/5-30.15 new)
Sec. 5-30.15. Guaranteed coverage for referral services;
managed care. If a Medicaid enrollee of a managed care
organization is referred by his or her primary care provider to
another provider who was on the in-network referral list
provided by the managed care organization for a medical
service, the managed care organization must cover the medical
service from that provider if it was a covered service on the
date of referral.
