Bill Title: Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Transportation shall increase the number of grants issued to a municipality when the purpose of the grant is an infrastructure improvement that would allow the municipality to accomplish its economic development goals. Effective immediately.

Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. AN ACT concerning transportation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding
Section 2705-455 as follows:
(20 ILCS 2705/2705-455 new)
Sec. 2705-455. Infrastructure grants. The Department shall
increase the number of grants issued to a municipality under
this Law when the purpose of the grant is an infrastructure
improvement that would allow the municipality to accomplish its
economic development goals.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
