2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Landlord and Tenant Act is amended by
5adding Section 20 as follows:
6 (765 ILCS 705/20 new)
7 Sec. 20. Security deposit limitation. The total amount of
8a security deposit and nonrefundable move-in fees, except for
9any additional fee for pets, may not exceed the amount of the
10first full month's rent for the tenant's dwelling unit.
