AN ACT concerning civil law.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Landlord and Tenant Act is amended by
adding Section 20 as follows:
(765 ILCS 705/20 new)
Sec. 20. Security deposit limitation. The total amount of
a security deposit and nonrefundable move-in fees, except for
any additional fee for pets, may not exceed the amount of the
first full month's rent for the tenant's dwelling unit.
