Bill Title: Amends the Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act. Provides that a federally qualified health care center may provide forensic services to sexual assault survivors in a manner that is consistent with the Act. Provides that a federally qualified health care center that chooses to provide forensic services to sexual assault survivors in a manner that is consistent with the Act shall follow specified provisions of the Act and rules concerning the collection of sexual assault evidence, sexual assault evidence testing, and the submission of sexual assault evidence that are applicable to hospitals. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
410 ILCS 70/6.7 new

Amends the Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act. Provides that a federally qualified health care center may provide forensic services to sexual assault survivors in a manner that is consistent with the Act. Provides that a federally qualified health care center that chooses to provide forensic services to sexual assault survivors in a manner that is consistent with the Act shall follow specified provisions of the Act and rules concerning the collection of sexual assault evidence, sexual assault evidence testing, and the submission of sexual assault evidence that are applicable to hospitals. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning health.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency
5Treatment Act is amended by adding Section 6.7 as follows:
6 (410 ILCS 70/6.7 new)
7 Sec. 6.7. Federally qualified health care centers. A
8federally qualified health care center may provide forensic
9services to sexual assault survivors in a manner that is
10consistent with this Act. Federally qualified health care
11centers that choose to provide forensic services to sexual
12assault survivors in a manner that is consistent with this Act
13shall follow the provisions of this Act and rules adopted
14pursuant to this Act concerning the collection of sexual
15assault evidence, sexual assault evidence testing, and the
16submission of sexual assault evidence that are applicable to
17hospitals under Sections 5, 6.1, 6.4, 6.5, and 6.6.
18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19becoming law.
