Provides that the county board of any county may regulate, for public health purposes, the keeping of livestock on properties that are 3 acres or less in size where more than 2 head of livestock per acre are being housed or maintained and the livestock are located within 500 feet of any neighboring residential dwelling. Defines "livestock". Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding the
5heading of Division 5-44 and by adding Section 5-44000 as
6follows:

10 Sec. 5-44000. Regulation of livestock. The county board of
11any county may regulate, for public health purposes, the
12keeping of livestock on properties that are 3 acres or less in
13size where more than 2 head of livestock per acre are being
14housed or maintained and the livestock are located within 500
15feet of any neighboring residential dwelling. For the purpose
16of this Section "livestock" means cattle, calves, swine,
17horses, and mules.
18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19becoming law.
