Bill Title: Amends the State Board of Education Article of the School Code. Provides that, subject to appropriation, the State Board of Education shall establish and administer a grant program to reimburse school districts for providing stipends for classroom Career and Technical Education teachers who participate in externships with a manufacturing company in this State. Provides for rulemaking. Effective July 1, 2026.

AN ACT concerning education.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
2-3.206 as follows:
(105 ILCS 5/2-3.206 new)
Sec. 2-3.206. Teacher externship stipend. Subject to
appropriation, the State Board of Education shall establish
and administer a grant program to reimburse school districts
for providing stipends for classroom Career and Technical
Education teachers who participate in externships with a
manufacturing company in this State. The State Board shall
adopt rules to implement this Section.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
2026.
