| 1 | AN ACT concerning courts.
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | changing Section 5-125 as follows:
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | (705 ILCS 405/5-125)
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | Sec. 5-125. Concurrent jurisdiction. Any minor alleged to | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | have violated a traffic, boating, or fish and
and game law,
or | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | a municipal or county ordinance, may be prosecuted for the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | violation and if
found
guilty punished under any statute or | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | ordinance relating to the violation,
without reference to the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | procedures set out in this Article, except that any
detention, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | must be in compliance with this Article. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | For the purpose of this Section, "traffic violation" shall | |||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | include a
violation of Section 9-3 of the Criminal Code of 1961 | |||||||||||||||||||
| 16 | or the Criminal Code of 2012 relating to the offense
of
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | reckless homicide, Section 11-501 of the Illinois Vehicle Code, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 18 | or any similar
county or municipal ordinance.
