Bill Title: Amends the Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984. Authorizes the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability to enter into a contract to conduct a study of health care procurement by the State of Illinois under the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services in relation to the Medicaid program, the State employees group insurance program, and other medical services for which it provides procurement services and to recommend methods for reducing these costs and obtaining the best value for these services. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning the legislature.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Legislative Commission Reorganization Act
of 1984 is amended by adding Section 3-5 as follows:
(25 ILCS 130/3-5 new)
Sec. 3-5. Health care procurement study. The Commission on
Government Forecasting and Accountability is authorized to
enter into a contract to conduct a study of health care
procurement by the State of Illinois under the Illinois
Department of Healthcare and Family Services in relation to the
Medicaid program, the State employees group insurance program,
and other medical services for which it provides procurement
services and to recommend methods for reducing these costs and
obtaining the best value for these services.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
