Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Removes the requirement that a motor carrier of property, in addition to possessing proof of continuous insurance or surety coverage in accordance with Commission regulations, have the proof on file with the Commission or its agents.

1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing
5Section 18c-4901 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/18c-4901) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 18c-4901)
7 Sec. 18c-4901. Insurance Coverage as a Prerequisite to
8Operations. No motor carrier of property shall operate within
9this State without unless it has on file with the Commission or
10its agent proof of continuous insurance or surety coverage in
11accordance with Commission regulations.
