AN ACT concerning civil law.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Local Governmental and Governmental
Employees Tort Immunity Act is amended by changing Section
1-101.1 as follows:
(745 ILCS 10/1-101.1) (from Ch. 85, par. 1-101.1)
Sec. 1-101.1. (a) The The purpose of this Act is to protect
local public entities and public employees from liability
arising from the operation of government. It grants only
immunities and defenses.
(b) Any defense or immunity, common law or statutory,
available to any private person shall likewise be available to
local public entities and public employees.
