1 | AN ACT concerning regulation.
| |||||||||||||||||||
2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| |||||||||||||||||||
4 | Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | changing Section 10 as follows:
| |||||||||||||||||||
6 | (225 ILCS 60/10) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10)
| |||||||||||||||||||
7 | (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2010)
| |||||||||||||||||||
8 | Sec. 10. The Department shall:
| |||||||||||||||||||
9 | (A) Make rules for establishing reasonable minimum
| |||||||||||||||||||
10 | standards of educational requirements to be observed by
| |||||||||||||||||||
11 | medical, osteopathic and and chiropractic colleges;
| |||||||||||||||||||
12 | (B) Effectuate the policy of the State of Illinois that the | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | quality of
medical training is an appropriate concern in the | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | recruiting, licensing,
credentialing and participation in | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | residency programs of physicians.
However, it is inappropriate | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | to discriminate against any physician because
of national | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | origin or geographic location of medical education;

18 | (C) Formulate rules and regulations required for the
| |||||||||||||||||||
19 | administration of this Act.
