1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by
5 changing Section 10 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 60/10) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10)
7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2010)
8 Sec. 10. The Department shall:
9 (A) Make rules for establishing reasonable minimum
10 standards of educational requirements to be observed by
11 medical, osteopathic and and chiropractic colleges;
12 (B) Effectuate the policy of the State of Illinois that the
13 quality of medical training is an appropriate concern in the
14 recruiting, licensing, credentialing and participation in
15 residency programs of physicians. However, it is inappropriate
16 to discriminate against any physician because of national
17 origin or geographic location of medical education;
18 (C) Formulate rules and regulations required for the
19 administration of this Act.
