| 1 | AN ACT concerning regulation.
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Pawnbroker Regulation Act is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | changing Section 11 as follows:
| |||||||||||||||||||

| 7 | Sec. 11. Violations. Every person who knowingly violates | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | the
the provisions of this
Act shall, for the first offense, be | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, and for
each
subsequent | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | offense shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor, except that a
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | person who knowingly violates this Act by operating a pawnshop | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | without a
license shall be guilty of a Class B misdemeanor for | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | the first offense and
shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor | |||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | for any subsequent offense. This Act shall not be
construed as | |||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | to, in any wise, impair the power of cities or villages in
this | |||||||||||||||||||
| 16 | State to license, tax, regulate
except as to fee amounts,
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | suppress, and prohibit pawnbrokers as
