1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
5changing Section 4-102 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/4-102) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 4-102)
7 Sec. 4-102. Offenses relating to motor vehicles and and
8other vehicles - Misdemeanors.
9 (a) It is a violation of this Chapter for:
10 (1) A person, without authority to do so, to damage a
11 vehicle or to damage or remove any part of a vehicle;
12 (2) A person, without authority to do so, to tamper
13 with a vehicle or go in it, on it, or work or attempt to
14 work any of its parts, or set or attempt to set it in
15 motion;
16 (3) A person to fail to report a vehicle as unclaimed
17 in accordance with the provisions of Section 4-107.
18 (b) Sentence. A person convicted of a violation of this
19Section shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. A person
20convicted of a violation of this Section a second or
21subsequent time, shall be guilty of a Class 4 felony.
