| 1 | AN ACT concerning local government.
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | 6-30005 as follows:
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | (55 ILCS 5/6-30005 new) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | Sec. 6-30005. Expenses for travel, lodging, or dining. A | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | county may not use payments received from the Local Government | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | Distributive Fund for payments for travel, lodging, or dining. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | A home rule county may not use payments received from the Local | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | Government Distributive Fund in a manner inconsistent with this | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | Section. This Section is a limitation under subsection (i) of | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution on the | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | concurrent exercise by home rule units of powers and functions | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | exercised by the State.

| 16 | Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | adding Section 8-1-2.3 as follows:

| 3 | manner inconsistent with this Section. This Section is a | ||||||
| 4 | limitation under subsection (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of | ||||||
| 5 | the Illinois Constitution on the concurrent exercise by home | ||||||
| 6 | rule units of powers and functions exercised by the State.

| 7 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 8 | becoming law.
