Bill Title: Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Provides that no alcoholic liquor that combines alcohol with caffeine, guarana, or other similar substances that are commonly referred to as "caffeinated alcohol beverages" may be imported into the State or produced, manufactured, distributed, sold, or offered for sale in this State by a licensee under the Act. Makes other changes.

AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1327
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1327 on page 3, by
3replacing lines 5 through 25 with the following:
4 "(235 ILCS 5/6-36 new)
5 Sec. 6-36. Caffeinated or stimulant-enhanced malt
6beverages.
7 (a) For purposes of this Section, "caffeinated or
8stimulant-enhanced malt beverage" means a prepackaged malt
9beverage that contains (1) added caffeine or another stimulant,
10including guarana, ginseng, or taurine and (2) at least 1%
11alcohol by volume.
12 (b) No person shall offer for sale a caffeinated or
13stimulant-enhanced malt beverage in this State.
14 (c) A person who violates this Section shall be subject to
15a penalty of not more than $1,000."; and
16by deleting all of page 4.
