AN ACT concerning elections.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding Sections
4-110, 5-110, and 6-110 as follows:
(10 ILCS 5/4-110 new)
Sec. 4-110. Election day registration. Notwithstanding any
other provision of this Code to the contrary, beginning January
1, 2011, an election authority may accept the in-person
registration of voters on the day of the consolidated primary
election and the day of the consolidated election. Each
election authority that permits the registration authorized by
this Section shall provide by rule for the implementation of
this Section.
