Amends the Civil Service in Cities Division of the Illinois Municipal Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning classification of offices and places of employment.

1 AN ACT concerning local government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
5changing Section 10-1-3 as follows:
6 (65 ILCS 5/10-1-3) (from Ch. 24, par. 10-1-3)
7 Sec. 10-1-3. The commissioners shall classify all all the
8offices and places of employment in such municipality with
9reference to the examinations hereinafter provided for, except
10those offices and places excluded by Section 10-1-17. The
11offices and places so classified by the commission shall
12constitute the classified civil service of such municipality.
13No appointments to any of such offices or places shall be made
14except under and according to the rules hereinafter mentioned.
15 The commissioners shall also classify all positions of
16employment in respect to employees whose employment is
17transferred to the municipality by virtue of "An Act in
18relation to the exchange of certain functions, property and
19personnel among cities, and park districts having coextensive
20geographic areas and populations in excess of 500,000,"
21approved July 5, 1957, as heretofore and hereafter amended, and
22such positions of employment shall be included in the
23classified civil service of the municipality.
