Bill Title: Creates the Thyroid Guard Act. Provides that a health care facility that conducts x-ray imaging must have a thyroid guard available and require personnel conducting the x-ray imaging to give a patient the option of using it, unless the thyroid guard would directly interfere with the ability of the personnel to obtain the x-ray imaging that was ordered.

New Act
Creates the Thyroid Guard Act. AN ACT concerning health.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
Thyroid Guard Act.
Section 5. Definition. In this Act, "health care facility"
has the same meaning provided in Section 3 of the Health Care
Right of Conscience Act.
Section 10. X-rays; thyroid guard. Notwithstanding any
other provision of law, a health care facility that conducts
x-ray imaging must have a thyroid guard available and require
personnel conducting the x-ray imaging to give a patient the
option of using it, unless the thyroid guard would directly
interfere with the ability of the personnel to obtain the
x-ray imaging that was ordered.
