| 1 | AN ACT concerning public aid.
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | changing Section 3-2 as follows:
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | (305 ILCS 5/3-2) (from Ch. 23, par. 3-2)

| 7 | Sec. 3-2. Conditions for basic maintenance grants to | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | persons receiving institutional
care. A resident of a public or | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | private home or institution maintained for the the
care of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | persons who are sick, convalescent, infirm or chronically ill, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | may,
if otherwise qualified, be granted financial aid for basic | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | maintenance,
subject to the rules and regulations of the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | Illinois Department, if the
facilities of the home or | |||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | institution are in conformity with standards
prescribed by the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | Department of Public Health for safeguarding the health,
| |||||||||||||||||||
| 16 | safety, and comfort of the residents thereof, and provide such | |||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | services as
may be prescribed by the Illinois Department for | |||||||||||||||||||
| 18 | enhancing their
rehabilitation or increasing their capacity | |||||||||||||||||||
| 19 | for self-care.
