1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5changing Section 3-2 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/3-2) (from Ch. 23, par. 3-2)
7 Sec. 3-2. Conditions for basic maintenance grants to
8persons receiving institutional care.
9 A resident of a public or private home or institution
10maintained for the the care of persons who are sick,
11convalescent, infirm or chronically ill, may, if otherwise
12qualified, be granted financial aid for basic maintenance,
13subject to the rules and regulations of the Illinois
14Department, if the facilities of the home or institution are in
15conformity with standards prescribed by the Department of
16Public Health for safeguarding the health, safety, and comfort
17of the residents thereof, and provide such services as may be
18prescribed by the Illinois Department for enhancing their
19rehabilitation or increasing their capacity for self-care.
