AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3175
AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3175 by replacing
everything after the enacting clause with the following:
"Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding
Section 2705-621 as follows:
(20 ILCS 2705/2705-621 new)
Sec. 2705-621. Type II Noise Suppression Program. On or
before July 1, 2025, the Department may, subject to
appropriation, create and implement a Type II Noise
Suppression Program as defined by 23 CFR 772.5 to provide
noise abatement on existing highways in the State. The
Department may determine and prioritize projects within this
program in accordance with 23 CFR 772.7(e).
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
