| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1803
| ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1803 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:
| ||||||
| 4 | "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the | ||||||
| 5 | LaSalle County Transportation Study Act.
| ||||||
| 6 | Section 5. LaSalle County Transportation Study.
| ||||||
| 7 | (a) The Department of Transportation shall conduct a
| ||||||
| 8 | transportation study on the effects of agricultural,
| ||||||
| 9 | manufacturing, mining, and other industrial operations in
| ||||||
| 10 | LaSalle County and its bordering counties, and produce a report
| ||||||
| 11 | on its findings. The report shall include the following:
| ||||||
| 12 | (1) impacts of road usage and traffic pattern
| ||||||
| 13 | disruptions by trucking companies;
| ||||||
| 14 | (2) potential road improvement plans to alleviate the
| ||||||
| 15 | additional highway traffic caused by increased
| ||||||
| 16 | agricultural, manufacturing, and mining operations;
| ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | (3) potential for adding new railway terminals and
| ||||||
| 2 | pipelines to alleviate the highway traffic caused by
| ||||||
| 3 | increased industrial operations;
| ||||||
| 4 | (4) estimates of current and future tourism trends for | ||||||
| 5 | the State parks and tourism areas in LaSalle county and the | ||||||
| 6 | effects of industrial operations on visitors to those parks | ||||||
| 7 | and tourism areas; and
| ||||||
| 8 | (5) recommendations to the General Assembly as to | ||||||
| 9 | whether further legislation or rulemaking is needed to | ||||||
| 10 | regulate industrial transportation in this State.
| ||||||
| 11 | (b) The Department may consult with any agency it deems
| ||||||
| 12 | necessary to carry out the study.
| ||||||
| 13 | (c) The Department shall submit its report and
| ||||||
| 14 | recommendations to the General Assembly on or before January 1,
| ||||||
| 15 | 2016.
| ||||||
| 16 | Section 10. Expiration. This Act is repealed on January 1,
| ||||||
| 17 | 2017.
| ||||||
| 18 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 19 | becoming law.".
