| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 481
| ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 481 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and | ||||||
| 5 | Museum Act is amended by changing Section 15 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (20 ILCS 3475/15)
| ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 15. Board. There shall be a Board of Trustees of the | ||||||
| 8 | Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum to set policy | ||||||
| 9 | and advise the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum | ||||||
| 10 | and the Executive Director on programs related to the Abraham | ||||||
| 11 | Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum and to exercise the | ||||||
| 12 | powers and duties given to it under Section 25 of this Act. If | ||||||
| 13 | the Chief Executive Officer of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential | ||||||
| 14 | Library Foundation is appointed by the Governor with advice and | ||||||
| 15 | consent of the Senate, then the The Abraham Lincoln | ||||||
| 16 | Presidential Library and Museum and the Abraham Lincoln | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Presidential Library Foundation shall mutually co-operate to | ||||||
| 2 | maximize resources available to the Abraham Lincoln | ||||||
| 3 | Presidential Library and Museum and to support, sustain, and | ||||||
| 4 | provide educational programs and collections at the Abraham | ||||||
| 5 | Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Any membership fees | ||||||
| 6 | collected by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library | ||||||
| 7 | Foundation may be used to support the Abraham Lincoln | ||||||
| 8 | Presidential Library and Museum programs or collections at the | ||||||
| 9 | Foundation's discretion. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential | ||||||
| 10 | Library Foundation Board shall select and submit to the | ||||||
| 11 | Governor's Office potential applicants for the office of Chief | ||||||
| 12 | Executive Officer of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library | ||||||
| 13 | Foundation. Within 30 days after receiving the potential | ||||||
| 14 | applicants, the Governor shall appoint a Chief Executive | ||||||
| 15 | Officer of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation | ||||||
| 16 | with advice and consent of the Senate. A Chief Executive | ||||||
| 17 | Officer shall serve a term of 4 years.
