1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5983

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5983 on page 3, | ||||||
3 | immediately below line 11, by inserting the following: | ||||||
4 | " (E) If the Agency adopts rules, emissions | ||||||
5 | standards, or permit conditions related to, or | ||||||
6 | prohibiting the use of ethylene oxide for | ||||||
7 | sterilization of medical products, then, | ||||||
8 | notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the | ||||||
9 | Agency shall, by rule, provide that a hospital licensed | ||||||
10 | under the Hospital Licensing Act or operated under the | ||||||
11 | University of Illinois Hospital Act, shall be allowed | ||||||
12 | at least 12 months, but no more than 18 months, from | ||||||
13 | the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th | ||||||
14 | General Assembly to discontinue its use of ethylene | ||||||
15 | oxide for the sterilization of medical products, or | ||||||
16 | otherwise comply with any emissions standards or | ||||||
17 | permit conditions. ".
