| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5983
| ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5983 on page 3, | ||||||
| 3 | immediately below line 11, by inserting the following: | ||||||
| 4 | "(E) If the Agency adopts rules, emissions | ||||||
| 5 | standards, or permit conditions related to, or | ||||||
| 6 | prohibiting the use of ethylene oxide for | ||||||
| 7 | sterilization of medical products, then, | ||||||
| 8 | notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the | ||||||
| 9 | Agency shall, by rule, provide that a hospital licensed | ||||||
| 10 | under the Hospital Licensing Act or operated under the | ||||||
| 11 | University of Illinois Hospital Act, shall be allowed | ||||||
| 12 | at least 12 months, but no more than 18 months, from | ||||||
| 13 | the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 100th | ||||||
| 14 | General Assembly to discontinue its use of ethylene | ||||||
| 15 | oxide for the sterilization of medical products, or | ||||||
| 16 | otherwise comply with any emissions standards or | ||||||
| 17 | permit conditions.".
