AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4835
AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4835 on page 2,
line 7, after "Code", by inserting "or the International
Existing Building Code, including its provisions for historic
buildings and change of use"; and
on page 2, line 14, by replacing "reuse; and" with "reuse;";
and
on page 2, line 17, by replacing "requirements." with
"requirements; and"; and
on page 2, immediately below line 17, by inserting the
following:
"(4) not require an existing building undergoing
adaptive reuse to comply with International Building Code
provisions intended for new construction if code
compliance has been demonstrated using the International

Existing Building Code.
(d) A home rule unit may not regulate automobile parking
in a manner inconsistent with this Section. This Section is a
limitation under subsection (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of
the Illinois Constitution on the concurrent exercise by home
rule units of powers and functions exercised by the State.";
and
on page 3, line 17, after "Code", by inserting "or the

on page 4, line 4, by replacing "requirements." with
