| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4826 | ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4826 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following: | ||||||
| 4 | "Section 5. The Department of Professional Regulation Law | ||||||
| 5 | of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by | ||||||
| 6 | adding Section 2105-379 as follows: | ||||||
| 7 | (20 ILCS 2105/2105-379 new) | ||||||
| 8 | Sec. 2105-379. Continuing education; prohibited services. | ||||||
| 9 | (a) As used in this Section, "prohibited services, | ||||||
| 10 | treatments, practices, or procedures" means the services, | ||||||
| 11 | treatments, practices, or procedures that are expressly | ||||||
| 12 | prohibited by law or by rule in this State at the time a | ||||||
| 13 | continuing education activity is completed. | ||||||
| 14 | (b) A licensee shall not receive continuing education | ||||||
| 15 | credit toward the renewal of a professional license for any | ||||||
| 16 | continuing education course, program, seminar, instruction, | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | webinar, or other educational activity that promotes, | ||||||
| 2 | instructs, or provides guidance on the performance of | ||||||
| 3 | prohibited services, treatments, practices, or procedures. | ||||||
| 4 | (c) Approval by the Department of a continuing education | ||||||
| 5 | provider or continuing education course does not supersede the | ||||||
| 6 | provisions of this Section. | ||||||
| 7 | (d) Nothing in this Section shall be construed to require | ||||||
| 8 | the Department to proactively review, pre-approve, evaluate, | ||||||
| 9 | monitor, or otherwise assess continuing education content | ||||||
| 10 | restrictions under this Section. | ||||||
| 11 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on | ||||||
| 12 | January 1, 2027.". | ||||||
