AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4025
AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4025 on page 1,
immediately below line 3, by inserting the following:
"Section 3. The State Finance Act is amended by adding
Sections 5.866 and 6z-101 as follows:
(30 ILCS 105/5.866 new)
Sec. 5.866. The Civics Education Assistance Fund.
(30 ILCS 105/6z-101 new)
Sec. 6z-101. The Civics Education Assistance Fund;
creation. The Civics Education Assistance Fund is created as a
special fund in the State treasury. All money in the Fund shall
be used, subject to appropriation, by the State Board of
Education to provide funding for civics courses and
professional development of civics content and skills. Gifts,
grants, and donations for those purposes from public and

private sources shall be deposited into the Fund. Interest
accruing on money in the Fund shall remain in the Fund.".
