| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2549

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2549 as follows:
| ||||||
| 3 | on page 3, immediately below line 26, by inserting the | ||||||
| 4 | following: | ||||||
| 5 | "(2.5) developing a before-school, in-school, or | ||||||
| 6 | after-school drama therapy program that is designed for | ||||||
| 7 | vulnerable youth with histories of exposure to familial and | ||||||
| 8 | community violence, school bullying, intolerance or hate | ||||||
| 9 | crimes, maltreatment or neglect, disrupted caregiving, or | ||||||
| 10 | any other life adversities and that focuses on the core | ||||||
| 11 | components of complex trauma intervention, including, but | ||||||
| 12 | not limited to, a student's safety, self-regulation, | ||||||
| 13 | healthy attachments, discovery and development of his or | ||||||
| 14 | her identity, self-worth, esteem, and competency; | ||||||
| 15 | (2.7) developing a school model for students in | ||||||
| 16 | kindergarten through grade 6 that integrates an | ||||||
| 17 | identity-affirming pedagogy with a rigorous, intentional | ||||||

| 1 | curriculum that utilizes a no-nonsense nurturing framework | ||||||
| 2 | and prioritizes an arts education;".
