AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2549
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2549 as follows:
3on page 3, immediately below line 26, by inserting the
4following:
5 "(2.5) developing a before-school, in-school, or
6 after-school drama therapy program that is designed for
7 vulnerable youth with histories of exposure to familial and
8 community violence, school bullying, intolerance or hate
9 crimes, maltreatment or neglect, disrupted caregiving, or
10 any other life adversities and that focuses on the core
11 components of complex trauma intervention, including, but
12 not limited to, a student's safety, self-regulation,
13 healthy attachments, discovery and development of his or
14 her identity, self-worth, esteem, and competency;
15 (2.7) developing a school model for students in
16 kindergarten through grade 6 that integrates an
17 identity-affirming pedagogy with a rigorous, intentional

1 curriculum that utilizes a no-nonsense nurturing framework
2 and prioritizes an arts education;".
