| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2475

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2475 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | "Section 5. The State Treasurer Act is amended by adding | ||||||
| 5 | Section 16.6 as follows:

| 6 | (15 ILCS 505/16.6 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 16.6. Achieving a Better Life Experience Account | ||||||
| 8 | Program. The State Treasurer may establish and administer an | ||||||
| 9 | Illinois "Achieving a Better Life Experience" or "ABLE" savings | ||||||
| 10 | account program for the purpose of empowering individuals with | ||||||
| 11 | a disability and their families to save private funds to | ||||||
| 12 | maintain health, independence, and quality of life, and to | ||||||
| 13 | provide secure funding for disability-related expenses.".
