| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 531
| ||||||
| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 531 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:
| ||||||
| 4 | "Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing | ||||||
| 5 | Sections 2A-16, 2A-17, and 2A-19 as follows:
| ||||||
| 6 | (10 ILCS 5/2A-16) (from Ch. 46, par. 2A-16)
| ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 2A-16. County Clerk - Time of Election. The County | ||||||
| 8 | Clerk of
each county shall be elected at the general election | ||||||
| 9 | in 1978 and at the
general election every 4 years thereafter | ||||||
| 10 | until 2022, when the County Clerk shall be elected for a term | ||||||
| 11 | of 2 years; the County Clerk of each county shall be elected at | ||||||
| 12 | the general election in 2024 and at the
general election every | ||||||
| 13 | 4 years thereafter.
