the
control

marijuana.

all
types
of
marijuana
and

are
classified
as
schedule

controlled

The
bill
eliminates
a
provision
classifying

marijuana
used
for
medicinal
purposes,
pursuant
to
rules
of
the
2
board
of
pharmacy,
as
a
schedule
II
controlled
substance.

bill
strikes
references
to
the
authority
of
the
board

to
establish
rules
relating
to
the
medicinal
use
of
marijuana

including
tetrahydrocannabinols
naturally
contained
in
a

cannabis
plant.

highly
addictive

that

no
accepted
medical

the
United
States

of
marijuana

or
tetrahydrocannabinols
involved
in
the
offense.

A
serious
misdemeanor
is
punishable
by
confinement
for
no

more
than
one
year
and
a
fine
of
at
least
$315
but
not
more
than

$1,875.
An
aggravated
misdemeanor
is
punishable
by
confinement

for
no
more
than
two
years
and
a
fine
of
at
least
$625
but
21
not
more
than
$6,250.
A
class
“D”
felony
is
punishable
by

confinement
for
no
more
than
five
years
and
a
fine
of
at

least
$750
but
not
more

felony
