                    SENATE RESOLUTION NO.    
              BY  COMMITTEE ON RULES AND ADMINISTRATION
  1  1 A Resolution honoring Senator Mark Chelgren for his
  1  2    years of service to the people of Iowa.
  1  3    WHEREAS, the Honorable Mark Chelgren was born and
  1  4 raised in California but settled in Iowa to start a
  1  5 business and raise a family; and
  1  6    WHEREAS, Senator Chelgren was first elected to the
  1  7 Senate in 2010; and
  1  8    WHEREAS, whether filing bills or amendments or
  1  9 rising to make a point of personal privilege, Senator
  1 10 Chelgren passionately strove to make his fellow
  1 11 Senators and the legislative process more accountable
  1 12 to the public from his first days as a Senator; and
  1 13    WHEREAS, over the past eight years Senator Chelgren
  1 14 has faced many difficult issues with an entrepreneurial
  1 15 drive and spirit that will greatly be missed; and
  1 16    WHEREAS, Senator Chelgren has served on a wide
  1 17 array of legislative committees, previously serving on
  1 18 Economic Growth (Ranking Member), and currently serving
  1 19 on the Administrative Rules Review Committee (Chair),
  1 20 Justice System Appropriations Subcommittee (Chair),
  1 21 Appropriations, Education, Human Services, and Local
  1 22 Government standing committees, and the Health Policy
  1 23 Oversight Committee of the Legislative Council; and
  1 24    WHEREAS, Senator Chelgren will be remembered for
  1 25 his tireless effort on behalf of his constituents in
  1 26 Davis, Jefferson, Van Buren, and Wapello counties; NOW
  1 27 THEREFORE,
  1 28    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the members of
  2  1 the Senate honor Senator Mark Chelgren for his eight
  2  2 years of dedication and service to the people of Iowa
  2  3 and wish him the best in the years to come.
