NEW SECTION. 262.97 Athletic operating budgets 1 2 ==== revenue transfers. 1 3 Annually, on September 1 following the close of a fiscal 1 4 year, the state university of Iowa and Iowa state university 1 5 of science and technology athletic departments shall transfer 1 6 to the university of northern Iowa athletic department for the 1 7 following fiscal years the following amounts: 1 8 1. From the state university of Iowa as follows: 1 9 a. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017, and ending 1 10 June 30, 2018, the sum of two million five hundred thousand 1 11 dollars. 1 12 b. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, and ending 1 13 June 30, 2019, the sum of two million five hundred thousand 1 14 dollars. 1 15 c. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, and ending 1 16 June 30, 2020, the sum of two million five hundred thousand 1 17 dollars. 1 18 d. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2020, and ending 1 19 June 30, 2021, the sum of two million five hundred thousand 1 20 dollars. 1 21 e. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021, and ending 1 22 June 30, 2022, the sum of two million five hundred thousand 1 23 dollars. 1 24 2. From Iowa state university of science and technology as 1 25 follows: 1 26 a. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017, and ending 1 27 June 30, 2018, the sum of one million eight hundred thousand 1 28 dollars. 1 29 b. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, and ending 1 30 June 30, 2019, the sum of one million eight hundred thousand 1 31 dollars. 1 32 c. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, and ending 1 33 June 30, 2020, the sum of one million eight hundred thousand 1 34 dollars. 1 35 d. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2020, and ending 2 1 June 30, 2021, the sum of one million eight hundred thousand 2 2 dollars. 2 3 e. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021, and ending 2 4 June 30, 2022, the sum of one million eight hundred thousand 2 5 dollars. 2 6 EXPLANATION 2 7 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 2 8 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 2 9 This bill directs the state university of Iowa (UI) and Iowa 2 10 state university of science and technology (ISU) to transfer 2 11 from moneys from their university's athletic departments a 2 12 total of $4.3 million for each of the next five years to the 2 13 university of northern Iowa (UNI) athletic department. 2 14 For each fiscal year of the fiscal period beginning July 2 15 1, 2017, and ending June 30, 2022, the UI athletic department 2 16 shall transfer $2.5 million to the UNI athletic department, and 2 17 the ISU athletic department shall transfer $1.8 million to the 2 18 UNI athletic department.
