  1  1    Section 1.  HEALTH WORKFORCE PROGRAM ANALYSIS == DEPARTMENT
  1  2 OF PUBLIC HEALTH.  The department of public health shall assess
  1  3 the health workforce development programs under the purview of
  1  4 the oral and health delivery systems bureau and shall report
  1  5 all of the following to the governor and general assembly by
  1  6 December 15, 2015:
  1  7    1.  The scope, expenditures, outputs, and outcomes of each
  1  8 program.
  1  9    2.  The extent to which the current programs are impacting
  1 10 and making progress toward addressing the health workforce
  1 11 needs identified.
  1 12    3.  Any identified gaps in the scope and availability of
  1 13 workforce development programs and associated health workforce
  1 14 data and recommendations to address such gaps.
  1 15                           EXPLANATION
  1 16 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 17 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 18    This bill directs the department of public health to assess
  1 19 the health workforce development programs under the purview of
  1 20 the oral and health delivery systems bureau and submit a report
  1 21 to the governor and the general assembly by December 15, 2015,
  1 22 relating to all of the following:  the scope, expenditures,
  1 23 outputs, and outcomes of each program; the extent to which
  1 24 the current programs are impacting and making progress toward
  1 25 addressing the health workforce needs identified; and any
  1 26 identified gaps in the scope and availability of workforce
  1 27 development programs and associated health workforce data and
  1 28 recommendations to address such gaps.
