S.F. 404 Section 1. STATE WELCOME SIGNS. 1 1. There is appropriated from the general fund of the 2 state to the department of transportation for the fiscal year 3 beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, the following 4 amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the 5 purposes designated: 6 For the removal and disposal of state welcome signs 7 currently installed along highways, and the design, creation, 8 purchase, and installation of new state welcome signs: 9 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 350,000 10 2. The design used for the new state welcome signs by the 11 department of transportation shall be different and distinct 12 from the design used for the currently installed state welcome 13 signs. The department of transportation shall install the new 14 state welcome signs in substantially the same locations from 15 which currently installed welcome signs are removed. 16 EXPLANATION 17 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 18 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 19 This bill appropriates $350,000 from the general fund of 20 the state to the department of transportation for the fiscal 21 year beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, for 22 the removal and disposal of state welcome signs currently 23 installed along highways, and the design, creation, purchase, 24 and installation of new state welcome signs. The design used 25 for the new state welcome signs must be different and distinct 26 from the design used for the currently installed state welcome 27 signs.
