  2    the provision of supportive housing to homeless persons.
  3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  1    Section 1.  SUPPORTIVE HOUSING TASK FORCE.  The Iowa
  1  2 finance authority shall establish a supportive housing task
  1  3 force to examine issues and make recommendations to promote
  1  4 the provision of supportive housing to homeless persons to
  1  5 enable them to live as independently as possible.  The task
  1  6 force shall include representatives from statewide housing
  1  7 trust funds, affordable housing groups, and other interested
  1  8 stakeholders.  The task force shall submit a report to the
  1  9 general assembly by December 29, 2017, which shall include the
  1 10 findings and recommendations of the task force and a plan to
  1 11 create and finance supportive housing.
  1 12                           EXPLANATION
  1 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 14 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 15    This bill requires the Iowa finance authority to establish
  1 16 a supportive housing task force to examine issues and make
  1 17 recommendations to promote the provision of supportive housing
  1 18 to homeless persons to enable them to live as independently as
  1 19 possible.  The task force is required to submit its findings
  1 20 and recommendations, to include a plan to create and finance
  1 21 supportive housing, to the general assembly by December 29,
  1 22 2017.
