  3    account of the early childhood Iowa fund and including
  4    effective date provisions.

  1  1    Section 1.  2013 Iowa Acts, chapter 141, section 26, as
  1  2 amended by 2014 Iowa Acts, chapter 1135, section 4, is amended
  1  3 by striking subsections 8, 9, and 10, and inserting in lieu
  1  4 thereof the following:
  1  5    8.  EARLY CHILDHOOD IOWA FUND
  1  6    For deposit in the school ready children grants account of
  1  7 the early childhood Iowa fund created in section 256I.11 for
  1  8 general aid and for purposes of the school ready children grant
  1  9 program created in section 256I.9:
  1 10 .................................................. $ 23,179,424
  1 11    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE UPON ENACTMENT.  This Act, being deemed of
  1 12 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 15 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 16    This bill makes changes to moneys appropriated from the
  1 17 general fund of the state to the department of education for
  1 18 deposit in the school ready children grants account of the
  1 19 early childhood Iowa fund created in Code section 256I.11 for
  1 20 general aid and for purposes of the school ready children
  1 21 grant program created in Code section 256I.9 for FY 2014=2015.
  1 22 The bill eliminates separate appropriations for general
  1 23 aid, preschool tuition assistance, and family support and
  1 24 parent education, and combines all appropriations into one
  1 25 appropriation for deposit in the school ready children grants
  1 26 account of the early childhood Iowa fund.
  1 27    The bill is effective upon enactment.
