county

under

chapter
331,
subchapter
V,
part

,
who
are
not
full-time
county

employees.

inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
eligibility
for
coverage
under
the
16
Iowa
public
employees’
retirement
system
(IPERS).
Current
17
law
provides
that
graduate
medical
students
while
serving
as
18
interns
or
resident
doctors
in
training
at
any
hospital
are
19
not
employees
for
purposes
of
IPERS.
The
bill
removes
this
20
exclusion.
