Section 92.9, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2018, 1 2 is amended to read as follows: 1 3 The provisions of sections 92.8 and 92.10 shall not 1 4 apply to pupils working under an instructor in a career and 1 5 technical education department in a school district or under 1 6 an instructor in a career and technical education classroom or 1 7 laboratory, or industrial plant, or in a course of career and 1 8 technical education approved by the state board for career and 1 9 technical education, or under the supervision of an individual 1 10 approved by a school district as part of a career and technical 1 11 education course, or to apprentices provided they are employed 1 12 under all of the following conditions: 1 13 EXPLANATION 1 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 15 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 16 This bill provides that portions of Code chapter 92, the 1 17 state child labor law, relating to prohibited occupations 1 18 for persons under 18 years of age and work permits, do not 1 19 apply to pupils working under the supervision of an individual 1 20 approved by a school district as part of a career and technical 1 21 education course.
