1.
For
purposes
of
this
section,
“perfluoroalkyl
substance”
3
or
“polyfluoroalkyl
substance”
means
a
class
of
fluorinated
4
organic
chemicals
containing
at
least
one
fully
fluorinated
5
carbon
atom.

2.
A
public
water
supply
system
that
serves
one
or
7
more
of
the
twenty-five
most
populous
cities
in
this
state
8
shall
annually
test
the
water
supply
for
the
presence
of
9
perfluoroalkyl
substances
and
polyfluoroalkyl
substances.
10
The
public
water
supply
system
shall
submit
a
report
to
the
11
commission
no
later
than
January
31
following
each
test.

For
the
purpose
of
determining
the
population
of
a
city

under
this
section,
the
most
recent
federal
decennial
census

shall
be
used.

inclusion
of
this
explanation
does

members

This
bill
requires
public
water
supply
systems
that
19
serve
one
or
more
of
the
25
most
populous
cities
in
this
20
state
to
annually
test
the
water
supply
for
the
presence
of
21
perfluoroalkyl
and
polyfluoroalkyl
substances.
The
bill
22
defines
“perfluoroalkyl
substance”
and
“polyfluoroalkyl
23
substance”.
The
bill
requires
a
public
water
supply
system
24
that
conducts
testing
pursuant
to
the
bill
to
submit
a
report
25
to
the
environmental
protection
commission
no
later
than
26
January
31
following
each
test.
For
purposes
of
determining
27
the
population
of
a
city
under
the
bill,
the
most
recent
28
federal
decennial
census
shall
be
used.
