                             AN ACT
 RELATING TO THE CREDIT HOURS OF EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE UNDER
    THE NATIONAL GUARD EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
    Section 1.  Section 261.86, subsection 3, paragraph a, Code
 2016, is amended to read as follows:
    a.  An eligible member of the national guard, attending an
 institution as provided in subsection 1, paragraph "d", shall
 not receive educational assistance under this section for more
 than one hundred twenty semester, or the equivalent, credit
 hours of undergraduate study. A national guard member who has
  met the educational requirements for a baccalaureate degree is
 ineligible for educational assistance under this section.
