Section
1.
RECOGNITION
PROGRAM
FOR
GENDER
DIVERSITY
ON
1
BOARD
OF
DIRECTORS
OR
OTHER
GOVERNING
BOARD.

1.
Effective
January
1,
2020,
the
economic
development
3
authority
shall
implement
and
administer
a
program
that
4
provides
a
certification
or
other
recognition
for
companies
5
that
have
at
least
fifty
percent
women
on
the
company’s
board
6
of
directors
or
other
governing
board.

2.
The
authority
shall
establish
criteria
for
all
of
the
8
following:
9
a.
Issuance
of
a
certification
or
other
recognition.
10
b.
Revocation
of
the
certification
or
other
recognition.
11
c.
Renewal
of
the
certification
or
other
recognition.
12
d.
Terms
of
use
for
a
company
that
has
received
the
13
certification
or
other
recognition.

3.
The
authority
shall
adopt
rules
pursuant
to
chapter
17A
15
as
necessary
to
implement
and
administer
this
section.

The
inclusion

this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
economic
development
authority,
by
20
January
1,
2020,
to
implement
and
administer
a
program
that
21
provides
a
certification
or
other
recognition
for
companies
22
that
have
at
least
50
percent
women
on
the
company’s
board
23
of
directors.
As
part
of
the
program,
the
authority
is
24
required
to
establish
criteria
for
issuance
of
a
certification,
25
revocation
and
renewal
of
the
certification,
or
other
26
recognition
and
terms
of
use
for
a
company
that
has
received
27
the
certification.
The
authority
shall
adopt
rules
as
28
necessary
to
implement
and
administer
the
program.
