NEW SECTION. 249A.4C Prior statutory approval 1 2 == implementation of Medicaid state plan amendment and waiver 1 3 requests. 1 4 Implementation of any medical assistance state plan 1 5 amendment or waiver submitted by the department to and approved 1 6 by the centers for Medicare and Medicaid services of the 1 7 United States department of health and human services, shall 1 8 be subject to prior authorization by a constitutional majority 1 9 of each house of the general assembly and approval by the 1 10 governor. 1 11 EXPLANATION 1 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 13 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 14 This bill requires prior authorization by a constitutional 1 15 majority of each house of the general assembly and approval by 1 16 the governor of the implementation of any medical assistance 1 17 state plan amendment or waiver submitted by the department to 1 18 and approved by the centers for Medicare and Medicaid services 1 19 of the United States department of health and human services.
