EXPLANATION

This
bill
adds
a
representative
of
the
Iowa
dietetic

association
and
a
representative
of
the
Iowa
behavioral

health
association
to
the
membership
of
the
medical
assistance

advisory
council.
The
medical
assistance
advisory
council
was
10
created
pursuant
to
federal
law
to
advise
the
director
of
the
11
department
of
human
services
about
health
and
medical
care
12
services
under
the
medical
assistance
program.
The
council
13
is
authorized
to
meet
no
more
than
quarterly.
An
executive
14
committee
of
the
council
comprised
of
11
members
is
authorized
15
to
meet
monthly.
