  1  1 A Resolution recognizing the Hoover Uncommon Public
  1  2    Service Award winner for 2018, Representative Dawn
  1  3    Pettengill.
  1  4    WHEREAS, Herbert Hoover was both a visionary and
  1  5 dedicated public servant and through his tireless
  1  6 efforts millions of lives were saved in the years after
  1  7 World War I; and
  1  8    WHEREAS, to honor that spirit of public service the
  1  9 Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association has
  1 10 created the Hoover Uncommon Public Service Award; and
  1 11    WHEREAS, the association annually presents
  1 12 the Hoover Uncommon Public Service Award to Iowa
  1 13 legislators who exemplify President Hoover's
  1 14 humanitarian efforts and have gone above and beyond
  1 15 the call of duty to demonstrate uncommon service and
  1 16 commitment to the people of Iowa; and
  1 17    WHEREAS, in 2018, the association awarded the
  1 18 12th annual Hoover Uncommon Public Service Award
  1 19 to Representative Dawn Pettengill of Mount Auburn,
  1 20 Iowa; and
  1 21    WHEREAS, Representative Pettengill has continually
  1 22 shown her commitment to the principles of the Hoover
  1 23 legacy by working tirelessly for the betterment of her
  1 24 community and the people of Iowa; and
  1 25    WHEREAS, Representative Pettengill has selflessly
  1 26 pursued justice and honesty for all Iowans; and
  1 27    WHEREAS, Representative Pettengill's dedication to
  1 28 public service, integrity, and excellence in community
  2  1 leadership has made her an inspiration to the people of
  2  2 Iowa; NOW THEREFORE,
  2  3    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, That
  2  4 the House of Representatives expresses its gratitude
  2  5 to the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association
  2  6 for the creation of the Hoover Uncommon Public Service
  2  7 Award and congratulates Representative Pettengill on
  2  8 receiving the 2018 award.
