1.
Section
262.9,
Code
2013,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
2A.
Establish
a
policy
requiring
3
institutions
under
the
control
of
the
board
to
determine
the
4
base
salary
of
an
employee
who
is
classified
by
the
institution
5
in
a
ninety
percent
position
and
not
a
full-time
position
6
during
a
pay
period
based
upon
the
actual
earnings
of
the
7
employee
during
that
pay
period
for
purposes
of
retirement
and
8
insurance
benefit
purposes.

EXPLANATION

This
bill
requires
the
board
of
regents
to
establish
a
policy
11
requiring
institutions
under
its
control
to
determine
the
12
base
salary
of
an
employee
based
upon
the
actual
earnings
of
13
the
employee
for
purposes
of
retirement
and
insurance
benefit
14
purposes.
