  1  1    Section 1.  2017=2018 MANDATORY TUITION FREEZE AT REGENTS
  1  2 UNIVERSITIES.  The state board of regents shall freeze the
  1  3 resident undergraduate, graduate, and professional tuition
  1  4 rates imposed by the institutions of higher learning governed
  1  5 by the board during the 2017=2018 academic year at the
  1  6 resident undergraduate, graduate, and professional tuition
  1  7 rates approved by the board on December 2, 2015, for such
  1  8 institutions for the 2016=2017 academic year.
  1  9                           EXPLANATION
  1 10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 11 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 12    This bill requires the state board of regents to freeze the
  1 13 resident undergraduate, graduate, and professional tuition
  1 14 rates imposed by the regents universities during the 2017=2018
  1 15 academic year at the resident undergraduate, graduate,
  1 16 and professional tuition rates the board approved for the
  1 17 universities for the 2016=2017 academic year.
